I founded The Ladies Golf Place in 2001. I had been working part time at a golf course pro shop and had been playing golf for just over a year. One afternoon while looking at a women's golf magazine, I thought how nice the clothes were and that I had hardly seen anything like them in the surrounding area. As we ladies know, the golf course pro shops tend to cater a bit more to the gentlemen golfer. Sure, there are a few things in a small corner, but the selections are somewhat limited. I also found this to be the case in the sports stores.
I decided to start my own ladies golf apparel business. I told the Pro I would like to rent a small room in the pro shop that was not being used at the time. I started there with some shirts, shorts, socks, and a few gift items. It's been four years and now I have merchandise in 8 pro shops. I have a goal of adding more pro shops this year along with launching the web site you're viewing now. I will have a great selection of golf apparel in the online store and will be adding more new items this Spring, Summer and Fall.
